Environmental Policies

Power Conservation: Wherever possible we are using low voltage light bulbs. All of our external lights and those lighting the buildings are on time clocks, time switches, or proximity switches to conserve electricity. Our standard operating instructions for all housekeepers is to turn off switches at the wall enabling a significant drop in power usage.
Water Conservation.

All the shower heads have been replaced with water conserving nozzles which allow the same enjoyment of water pressure but reduces the volume of water used.

Our parks and gardens have automatic timers or are manually controlled to use only the minimum amount of water needed to keep out trees, shrubs and lawn in best possible condition and healthy.  A hardy species of grass is used throughout the campervan park as we do experience long hot dry summers.

Recycling Policy

We recycle cardboard, paper, steel and aluminium cans, glass and plastic. Also old magazines and any electronic items. You will find several re-cycling stations throughout the Campervan Park clearly marked and with colour coded bins.

We are constantly seeking ways to improve our performance and appreciate any suggestions from travellers who may have other ideas on how we may improve our performance.

We are continuing to seek further ways to not only reduce our impact on the environment, but work pro-actively with conservation groups to institute a program of tree planting in the Wanaka area.
